Administrative Information

Principals & Assistant Principals

GCS is currently accepting applications for Principals and Assistant Principals on an ongoing basis. Interested individuals should consult the Special Vacancy Notice on School Based Administrators.

Step 1 - Apply

Access the NC State Online Application System and fill out an online application: https://schooljobs.dpi.state.nc.us/

Step 2 - Qualify

The Office of Employment will review and process your online application. If your application is in an area of need for our district based upon current vacancies, you will automatically be moved to Step 3: Screening. If it does not meet an area of need at present, your application will remain active for up to one year.

Step 3 - Screening

If the Office of Employment determines that your application is in an area of need for our district based upon current vacancies, you will receive an email that includes a link to our online screener and a request for any documents needed to complete your application. These documents will usually include: college transcripts, copies of applicable test scores, a copy of your license if you are from out of state.

Step 4 - District Level Interview

Candidates whose online screeners meet the needs of our district may be invited to participate in a face-to-face district level screening interview. Should you be recommended to proceed to this step, the Human Resources Department will contact you to schedule an interview.  Please bring an up-to-date resume with you to this interview.
