Cathy Hailey began her career as a health educator in 1987 and as a Health Coordinator in Asheboro City Schools, where she was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive family life curriculum for students in grades K-12 and training science teachers to deliver it.
Each year, for almost 12 years, Cathy has taught the Family Life health curriculum to anywhere from two to four middle schools in Guilford County. Currently, she is teaching at Kiser Middle, Northwest Middle and Northern Middle.
Colleagues have described Cathy as “effective, intelligent, caring, approachable, creative, up-to-date, realistic and fun.”
Because of her many accomplishments, the North Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education is proud to name Cathy Hailey as the 2006 Middle School Health Educator of the Year.
