RE:	Approval of Recommended Name for Guilford County Schools Transportation Facility

As reported at the October 23, 2006 board meeting, Guilford County Schools Administration has requested that the district transportation facility be named in honor of a distinguished individual who has made outstanding contributions to the school system, as well as the community.

Pursuant to our procedure on the naming of schools (FDCA-P), a nomination form and accompanying support documents were provided for review and consideration.

The recommended name was posted on the district website for a period of public comment and feedback. There were no comments received.

RECOMMENDATION: Based on its recommendation and in the absence of further public comment, the administration recommends the board approve the use of the name Moen Transportation Center. If the name is approved, staff will move forward with obtaining the appropriate signage.
