Guilford County Schools’ Employee of the Month for
September 2006

Do you need to know something about Penn-Griffin School for the Arts? Mary Ensley has been there seemingly forever and knows the school inside out. In fact, the school treasurer even led the charge to transform the old Alfred J. Griffin Middle into the new Penn-Griffin School for the Arts magnet.

In addition to her duties, Ensley spends her spare time working with students who have trouble in school or lending a motherly ear to those who need her guidance.

She even spearheads the effort to keep the school campus as well as the surrounding area clean.

The Employee of the Month received a $50 gift card from Sam’s Club, which has partnered with GCS to support the employee recognition program.
