The Guilford County Board of Education held a public forum on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Allen Jay Middle School to listen to concerns and answer questions about the proposed Jamestown Middle School and Autism Wing. Chairman Alan Duncan delivered opening remarks beginning at 6:10 p.m. The following board members were present: Jeff Belton, Alan Duncan, Dot Kearns, Amos Quick (arrived at 6:45 p.m.), Nancy Routh (arrived at 6:20 p.m.) and Anita Sharpe. Board members Walter Childs, Kris Cooke, Darlene Garrett, Deena Hayes and Garth Hébert were absent. Staff members present were Superintendent Terry Grier, Chief Operations Officer Leo Bobadilla, Executive Director of Facilities Andy LaRowe and Joe Hill in the facilities department.
Members of the public who were in attendance were given the opportunity to make comments and ask questions regarding the proposed project. The forum was an open dialogue between board members and members of the public. Registration to address the board was available prior to the start of the meeting.
At 7:05 p.m., with no further public comments, the forum concluded.
