GCS Employee of the Month for April 2007 |

When a student recently collapsed while trying out for track, Catherine Old didn’t think twice about what to do. Although the student had no pulse and was not breathing, Catherine administered CPR until the paramedics arrived. The eighth-grader was taken to the hospital and recovered, but the doctors credited Catherine with saving the child’s life. Because of her heroics in a time of crisis, Catherine was selected as the April Employee of the Month. As Guilford County Schools’ Employee of the Month, Catherine received a $50 gift card from Sam’s Club, who has partnered with GCS to execute the employee recognition program. Catherine’s photo will hang on a plaque at the district’s central office, at her school and at Sam’s Club on Wendover Avenue. |
