RE:	Contracts for Pleasant Garden Elementary School Additions

Bids were received on May 8, 2007, for additions at Pleasant Garden Elementary School. Attached are the tabulations of the seven bids received. The construction budget for this project is $4,334,584 which includes a budget of $260,000 for a fire sprinkler system. Bids will be received during the week of June 4th for this system.

The following submitted the lowest responsive responsible bids:

Technology Construction
Ken-Nect Communications, LLC 45,490
Winston-Salem, NC ___________

$4,031,490

RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends awarding contracts to Morlando-Holden Construction, Inc. for general construction in the amount of $3,986,000 and to Ken-Nect Communications, LLC in the amount of $45,490 for technology construction.
