Project Fit America All-Star Teacher of the Year

Gary Martin, elementary physical education specialist at Rankin Elementary, was presented with the Project Fit America All-Star Teacher of the Year award.

The award started in 1999 when the Project Fit America in-field trainers noticed that certain teachers were excelling exceptionally well in project development and in fact had begun to create their own versions of Project Fit America lesson plans, games, and activities.  This award was created in an effort to showcase exceptional teachers and share their new ideas with other Project Fit America teachers across the country.  The qualifications sought for this award are:  exceptional dedication to the students, outstanding creativity in Project Fit America program usage, quality of continuity of Project Fit America program usage over a period of two years or more, and having an excellent rapport with other faculty, principal and parents.  GCS is proud to have the recipient of this year’s All-Star Teacher of the Year.  Mr. Martin is to be commended for this great honor.
