GCS Volunteer of the Month for June 2007 |
|
Students at Northwood Elementary might find Debbie Maines assisting in the cafeteria, teaching monthly character education lessons, planning student events or working in the office. Principal Scott Winslow nominated Debbie for her “can-do” spirit and said, “She is such a constant presence at Northwood Elementary that students recognize her and treat her like staff.” If that were not enough, Debbie is also the GCS Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Council President, a full-time job by itself. Because of her tireless dedication to the students and staff at Northwood Elementary, Debbie, has been selected as the June GCS Volunteer of the Month. As Guilford County Schools’ Volunteer of the Month, Debbie will receive a certificate of appreciation from the Board of Education. She will also receive a $25 gift card from American Express. Additionally, her photo will hang on a plaque at her school during the month of June. |
