Recognition of Visiting Chinese Educator

Guilford County Schools is among a select number of school districts nationwide to offer a Mandarin Chinese curriculum. With one billion people who speak Chinese, it is the most widely spoken language in the world, and now some GCS students can include themselves among that number. Wu Aixia, Xia Oyang and Cao Hong have joined the GCS family, leaving their own behind in China, and they will spend the next two years teaching the language, culture and lifestyle to GCS students. These teachers are chosen through a highly selective process administered by The Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) and the College Board. Watch for a video about the teachers and the district’s Mandarin Chinese program on GCSTV2!
