GCS Volunteer of the Month for December 2008 |

Abby Russell is a fixture at Pilot Elementary. Russell is president of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). She is a whirlwind of ideas and activities. Russell is at the school nearly every day, raising funds for the PTA, organizing newcomer nights, the book fair and working with local restaurants to promote family nights. Because of her relentless dedication and ability to inspire others to volunteerism, Russell was selected as the district’s December Volunteer of the Month. As part of the award, she was surprised by American Express representatives with a gift bag and a $25 American Express gift card. Her photo will hang at Pilot Elementary and the district’s central offices. |
