RE:

Approval of Attendance Zone Maps and Duplicate Magnet Feeder Zone Lists

At its meeting on April 20, 2007, the board approved the submission of the Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grant containing proposed attendance zone maps. Duplicate magnet feeder zone lists created from the proposed attendance zone maps were shared with the board at its November 26, 2007, Magnet Grant Implementation Administrative Briefing.

Attendance zone maps and duplicate magnet feeder zone lists are used by the Office of Student Assignment to appropriately identify schools and programs to which students may apply and enroll.  These documents are also available at the GCS Magnet Fairs.  The following are presented to the board for review and approval for the 2008-09 school year:

Attachment #1: Attendance Zone Maps – IB Primary Years Programmes – Northwood and Falkener
Attachment #2: Attendance Zone Maps – IB Middle Years Programmes – Hairston and Ferndale
Attachment #3: Attendance Zone Maps – Science and Technology – Welborn and Aycock
Attachment #4: Attendance Zone Maps – Montessori – Washington, Erwin, and Triangle Lake
Attachment #5: Duplicate Magnet Feeder Zone Lists – Elementary
Attachment #6: Duplicate Magnet Feeder Zone Lists – Middle/High

RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends approval of the above listed Attendance Zone Maps and Duplicate Magnet Feeder Zones Lists for the 2008-09 school year.
