GCS Volunteer of the Month for January 2009 |
|
When Gina Hicks saw that Erwin Montessori was in need of some new playground equipment, she jumped into action. She organized a walk-a-thon for the school, which raised more than $6,000. While serving as Parent-Teacher Association treasurer and co-president, Gina has been instrumental in implementing cultural arts programs, and even started after-school guitar and piano lessons. Gina is always there to support the Erwin family, and for that, she was selected as the district’s January Volunteer of the Month. As Volunteer of the Month, she received a gift bag and $25 gift card from American Express. American Express recognizes the important role that volunteers play in our schools, and American Express has generously partnered with GCS to sponsor the volunteer recognition program. |
