RE:

Second Reading – Policy JBCD, Registered Sex Offenders - Students

At its meeting on January 29, 2009, the board approved for first reading Policy JBCD, Registered Sex Offenders - Students. This policy has been posted on the district Web site for a public comment period per the board’s policy.

Three comments were received as follows:

  • One comment questions the background checks on volunteers and possible sex offenders
  • One comment questions the law itself
  • One comment requests possible additions to the procedure

Based on the comments received, there will be no changes to the policy.

RECOMMENDATION:  The administration recommends the board adopt Policy JBCD, Registered Sex Offenders - Students.
