2009 Arts Educator of the Year and Finalists

Guilford County Schools in partnership with the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro and New Xperience Entertainment have announced the 2009 Arts Teacher of the Year award winner and runners-up.

This year’s award winner is Andy Mock, music specialist at Jefferson Elementary. Andy will receive $1,000 to be used for professional development. This year’s first runner-up is Dena Adams, choral director at Northwest Middle. Dena will receive $300 for professional development as will the second runner-up, Lisa Woods, art teacher at Weaver Academy. Winners were among several teachers across Guilford County who were nominated for their expertise in teaching. A panel of judges selected the winners through a rigorous process.
