Revised 2009-10 Academic Calendar

Based on legal and policy issues that arose from the previously approved calendar, Option 1 was produced by administration with input from Mark Jewell, President of Guilford County Association of Educators, as a new option for the 2009-10 traditional calendar.
RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the revised calendar (option 1), in light of recent legal and policy issues, since it would allow the final school day for students to be June 10 in the event of missing up to seven days of school due to inclement weather. The administration also recommends giving members of the public an opportunity to comment on this option as well as option 2, which was approved by the Board of Education on December 18, 2008.
