RE:	Governance Committee Recommendations for Policies

The Governance Committee has reviewed the policies and procedures governing Student Participation in Interscholastic Athletics (Policy JI) and Interscholastic Athletic Coaches (Policy GBDBA and Procedure GBDBA-P). These athletic policies have been developed with input from principals, athletic directors and coaches. They reflect the district’s strong commitment to the benefit of student participation in middle school and high school athletics and are presented to the Board of Education for consideration and discussion.

RECOMMENDATION: The Governance Committee recommends approval of these items for first reading and subsequent posting for public comment.
