RE:

GCS Volunteer of the Month for July 2009

Mondays at Triangle Lake Montessori get off on the right foot. That’s because the students know they can count on Mark Malone to be there from the moment they arrive until they say goodbye. Malone helps in the classroom, assisting in lesson plans and providing valuable guidance with the students’ science projects. He even eats lunch with the students, and he uses that personal time to be a positive male role model for the boys in the class. “He’s there all the time,” said Lisa Sunshine, the Parent-Teacher Association president who nominated him. “He’s even there almost as much as I am!”

As Volunteer of the Month, Malone will receive a $25 gift card from American Express, which has generously partnered with GCS to support the volunteer recognition program. During the month of July, his photo will hang at the district’s central offices and Triangle Lake Montessori.
