Authorization of the Safe and Drug Free Schools (Title IV) Grant Application

Guilford County Schools has applied to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for Safe and Drug Free Schools (Title IV) grant funding.  The application has been approved by (DPI) pending formal authorization from the Board of Education.  These funds are used to provide age-appropriate violence prevention and substance abuse prevention services throughout the district. 

The application is attached for your review.

RECOMMENDATION:  The administration recommends that the board authorize the Safe and Drug Free Schools (Title IV) grant application as submitted to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
