Heavy Equipment and Transport Technology Curriculum Highlights

If you are interested in diesel engines or anything with an engine for that matter, you will be interested in the Heavy Equipment and Transport Technology Courses.

Students use Caterpillar software to learn the fundamentals of diesel engine diagnosis and repair. A local industry donated the cab of an 18-wheeler truck for hands-on simulations. Students work on a cut-away engine model which allows them to view the inner workings of the engine and use diagnostic software to pinpoint the exact location of malfunctioning parts.

Career opportunities in this area include Technicians, Equipment Operators, Design Engineers and Service Management. Technicians in this industry, after specialized training and experience, can make over $50,000.00 per year.
