Information Technology Curriculum Highlights

Network Engineering Technology

Students design and maintain networks, install cabling, and configure routers and switches for wide area networks and simple network management protocol. Students prepare for Nortell NetKnowledge certification.

Network Administration

 Network Administration classes carry out the day-to-day administration of an installed network including accessing information and resources, file and directory management, and hardware configurations. Students may become certified in Novell, Microsoft, and/or Red Hat at no cost to the student. 

Electronics

Electronics topics include measuring electricity, power and circuits, logic and  semiconductor devices, and applications with robotics and electronic systems.

Scientific Visualization

Students use graphics and animation software such as 3D Studio Max  to integrate science and technology allowing students to visualize cell structure, body systems, weather patterns, and other scientific principles.

Computer Programming

Computer Programming introduces students to the most current programming languages used in the businesses today. Students learn Java, Oracle, C++, and Visual Basic programming and prepare to earn certifications such as Oracle Certified Professionsal.

Computer Engineering Technology

Students build computers, diagnose problems and make the appropriate repairs. Students prepare for CompTIA  A+ Certification, a nationally recognized certification for computer service technicians.
