Automotive Program Special Features

Carolina EV Challenge

Students from the Northeast High School Automotive Technology Program participated in the Carolina E.V. Challenge, "a cutting edge educational program where students convert an existing gasoline vehicle into a fully functioning and efficient electric vehicle."  Students enter their vehicle in events throughout the year to test how well it operates. In addition to building the car, students designed a web page to share information about what they learned with the community.

College Tech Prep completers in Automotive and Collision Technology have multiple opportunities to use the "high tech" skills learned in the classroom.  SkillsUSA, and Ford and General Motors competitions are important avenues for students to compete their peers from across the United States across the nation.
