Electrical Technology Special Features

Students in the Electrical Technology Class at Weaver Education Center are gaining "hands-on experience by wiring homes for Habitat for Humanity. They worked on several houses in the Fox Trail subdivision. Students work under the direction of their teacher, Mr. Randy Jones, and their work must pass careful inspection by the city electrical inspectors. In addition to this house, students wired a house project that was built by the Weaver Construction Technology classes.

Jason Bunton and Allen Holloman received awards for Outstanding Third Year Apprentice and Honorary Trade Master from Commissioner Cherie K. Berry at the Annual North Carolina Department of Labor Apprenticeship and Training Forum. Jason is a 1999 graduate of Eastern Guilford High School and the College Tech Prep Electrical Technology Program. He is an apprentice at Starr Electric Company. Allen Holloman is one of our business partners who works with the high school apprentices at Starr Electric Company. Congratulations to these winners.
