Electrical Technology Curriculum Highlights

The Electrical Technology College Tech Prep Course of Study is designed to introduce students to a variety of careers in the electrical field. Here students follow schematics to simulate the installation, trouble shooting and service required of electricians in the field. Skills gained will increase their chances for success as they work towards careers as electricians, linesmen, engineers, or CAD operators.

Summer employment or apprenticeships are available for students who wish to work in the industry while they further their education

An electrician requires a journeyman certification, which is available through on the job training and community college Others require associate, bachelor's, or master's degrees. Salaries range from $8.00 per hour for entry level to more than $35,000.00 for engineers.
