This site is intended to provide support to current and prospective families with students who qualify, either now or in the future, for Advanced Learner (AL) Program Services.

The Advanced Learner Program is governed by the Plan for the Advanced Learners.  Another key supporting document is the Advanced Learner Handbook.

Dear Ms. Watson:

On June 8, 2004, the Guilford County Board of Education approved the revised Advanced Learner Plan.  The Advanced Learner Program in Guilford County has experienced much success with this plan in its six years of implementation.  Any revisions to the plan have been made to establish new initiatives and emphases for the future. 

Guilford County Schools is strongly committed to appropriate education for advanced learners and intends to support the continued implementation of the Advanced Learner Plan.

We are pleased to submit this revised plan to the State Board of Education for review.
