Volunteer Opportunities

Here are just a few ideas on how you or your employees can continue your "Fill the Bus" partnership throughout the school - year!

Ideas for Individuals that take about an hour:

• Lunch Buddies - Have lunch once a week with a student and serve as a positive role model
• Tutor - Work with a student who may need a little extra help with math, English, or science.
• Mentor - Share your advice, concern and friendship. Make a difference in the life of a student!
• Classroom assist - be a teacher's right hand in the classroom. Help with class projects, bulletin boards, or listen to children read
• Story Time - help books come alive by reading to children in the classroom
• Show and Tell - offer to speak to a class about your work or hobby

Ideas for Groups

• Work with your school partner to have a Landscaping Day. Supply the plants, the tools, and the muscle
• Support your school partner by attending sporting events, band or choral concerts or plays.
• Have a pizza party for the class with the best attendance
• Work with the PTA on special school projects
• "Restock the Bus" - collect more school supplies in January
• Work with students on a project that matches your business - printing, manufacturing, engineering, construction, etc.
