How do I get on the Guilford County School’s vendor list?To become an active vendor with the Guilford County School System vendors must fill out a vendor application form and return it to the Purchasing Department. An application form is available under the Vendor Application page and may be submitted to the What about Historically Underutilized Businesses?GCS actively seeks and identifies qualified minority (MBE), women-owned (WBE) and disabled (DBE) business enterprises and encourages their participation in responding to bids on all construction, service and purchases contracts. How do HUB businesses obtain MWBE Certification?HUBS must be certified with the state of North Carolina, any local governmental entity, Triad Minority Supplies Development Council and the Carolina Supplies Development Council. Hub vendors must identify themselves as such on GCS Vendor Application Form and forward a copy of certification to the Purchasing Department How can I get a list of commodities that are purchased and how can I find out about upcoming bids?The Department Directory section lists the most often purchased commodities and the staff person responsible for those commodities. Information about upcoming bids is posted in the Request for Quotes section (Under Construction). Questions regarding commodities may be directed to the responsible staff person by e-mail or phone. Does GCS pay sales tax?Yes, GCS is required to pay North Carolina State Sales Tax. Invoices should reflect the proper sales tax amounts. Invoices from construction contractors should show the amount of sales tax paid in performance of their work. Does GCS use State Contract?Yes, GCS is required to purchase all items that are available on State Contracts from those contracts. Information about products available on State Contract may be obtained from the North Carolina Division of Purchase and Contract home page. When are your surplus property sales?
