Speech, Occupational, and Physical
Speech, occupational, and physical therapy services are available for students who qualify. A total communication approach is used to enable students to communicate wants and needs. Picture and object exchange, sign language, oral communication, and augmentative communication devices are methods used to tailor individual communication systems.
Occupational therapists focus on helping students become more independent in daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and eating, and allow work with classroom staff to create individual sensory diets to help students overcome sensory challenges. Accessing the school environment safely and independently is the goal for most physical therapy sessions.
