Welcome to the PTA/PTSA of
Ben L. Smith High School


The Purpose of PTA/PTSA:
-To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
-To raise the standards of home life.
-To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
-To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that prarents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
-To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth, the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.

The Mission of PTA/PTSA:
 
-To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
-To assist parents in developing skills they need to raise and protect their children.
-To encourage parent and public involvement in the schools of this nation.

Our meetings are the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00pm
PTSA membership is $5.00 per person. We encourage students to join as well since our school has a PTSA(Parent Teacher Student Association).
 

The PTSA nominating committee is accepting nominations for the following positions: School Leadership Team Parent Representative; PTSA Officers -- Vice President, Secretary, Asst. Secretary and Treasurer, as well as a representative for the District Parental Advisory Council.

Please contact Mrs. Hall at Smith HS to nominate yourself or to nominate someone else to be placed on the ballot.

We will also take final nominations at our May 16th meeting which begins at 7:00 p.m. as a part of the spring concert. Elections will be held at a special call meeting on Thursday, June 6th at 7:00 p.m. Additional information can be found by visiting the sites below:
