Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students of Northern Guilford High School, On behalf of the Northern Guilford High School PTSA, I welcome you to Northern for the 2012 - 2013 school-years. We are excited about this school year and especially about you becoming a part of our Parent, Teacher, and Student Association. I guarantee we have a place for you! The PTSA helps the Northern community in many ways. Our members volunteer in the attendance office, make copies for teachers and work as proctors during testing. We provide meals for the teachers and hold a monthly dessert raffles. We buy educational materials, purchase and install various landscaping for the school grounds, and hold quarterly student recognition celebrations. The list goes on and on. Some events this year are the GRAND OPENING OF THE NIGHTHAWK STORE, Faculty and staff dessert lottery, Mr. Nighthawk competition, various student recognition programs, and our Senior Party Gras (Graduation Safe night). This year we will also be offering $5,000 in scholarships, $10, 000 in mini grant contributions, and hosting some special events for our seniors. We are looking for MORE (Men Organized to Raise Engagement) and Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students)! None of this is possible without the support of caring, involved parents, teachers, and students. Please consider becoming a member and sharing your time and talents to support our programs. For your convenience, a membership form is on the back of this letter. Get started by filling out your membership form and bring it to the General Meeting and Walk-the-Schedule on September 13th at 6:30pm. In addition to memberships we will be selling brick pavers that you can use to honor your student, coach, or teacher, or to recognize your family. We are also your source for Nighthawk spirit-wear. Look for us at school and sport functions! As you can see, we are a very active PTSA and we love our Nighthawks!!
