Principal of the Year


Anna Brady, principal at Grimsley High, received the district's highest honors at the 10th annual Celebrating Excellence in Education event at Northern High. The event is sponsored by Businesses for Excellence in Education. Brady is a 21-year education veteran who has served as the principal at Grimsley High since 2008.
 
"As the leader of my school, I believe the school vision begins with me," she said. "I must be the one who creates optimal conditions for excellence in all areas of our school community. As the head coach, I inspire my team to believe in the vision and create a team spirit and commitment for success."

Other principals receiving awards included Northwood Elementary Principal Scott Winslow. As Elementary Principal of the Year, he received $500. The remaining finalists  -- Charles Blanchard from Southeast High, Melissa Nixon from Irving Park Elementary and Anitra Walker from Northeast High -- received $300 each.
