What is an electronic pay stub or paperless pay stub?
The electronic pay stub replaces the paper pay stub that is currently printed by Guilford County Schools (GCS). Instead of receiving a paper pay stub, you will have access to view and print your pay information by logging onto the Employee Self Service section of the GCS Web site (where you change your contact information).
Can I still have my pay stub printed?
A. No. Beginning in June, pay stubs for most GCS employees will only be available through Employee Self Service. During the month of May, your online pay stub AND a printed pay stub will be available.
How do I get to Employee Self Service?
Go to the Employee web page and click on the button in the top right corner that says Employee Self Service or click here.
Why is the district moving toward paperless pay stubs?
Moving toward paperless pay stubs will help the district save on costs like paper, printing and postage, as well as saving time for employees involved in the paper stub process. By having a secure site, it also reduces the risk of identity theft. Because the district will be using less paper, it’s also beneficial to the environment!
Why are some employees still receiving paper pay stubs?
Some GCS employees do not have access to a secure computer, therefore paper stubs will still be provided to these employees. The district’s goal is to provide a secure computer that’s accessible to all employees by July 2010 to complete the pay stub transition to all online.
Will I ever receive a paper check?
There are occasions when an actual check will be issued. For example, often times when an employee is new to GCS, their first payment will come as an actual check. Copies of checks will be available for review online.
How will I know that my money has been deposited?
You will be able to view your pay stub on the district’s pay day. Your payment history will be stored for up to three years. You can print your online pay stubs at any time as long as the computer is connected to a printer.
Who can I contact if I have questions about my pay?
You can call the GCS payroll department at (336) 370-8367.
