Energy WISE |
Tracking Our Success: GCS has contracted with School Dude (Utility Direct) for web-based utility tracking. The Energy WISE project will be evaluated on energy savings. A monthly report will quantify how much each school has improved year over year for that month. This works in tandem with our WISE Guy Challenge, which recognizes schools that have the greatest energy reduction for the previous month based on last year’s energy consumption. The challenge has three categories: High Schools, Middle Schools and Elementary Schools.
At the end of the program, the participating schools are required, in order to earn a cash award, to submit completed Energy WISE report forms. These completed projects are then reviewed and ranked for higher level awards. To us, the amount of effort and work that goes into the projects is an indication of how well our schools are performing.
Energy teams will also have the opportunity to apply for a Youth Award through the NEED project. This will allow our teams to be assessed by an independent organization and to have their achievements recognized at the state and national levels.
