The class gave me more confidence and I picked up quite a bit of the spoken language. The most precious lessons were those understanding the culture and understanding the needs of our students who speak Arabic or another Middle Eastern language.” (Amanda French, High Point Central High School, took Arabic at Northwood Elem.) “I really enjoyed the opportunity to enhance my global awareness. I am able to use what I have learned in my classroom. I would highly recommend taking the course.” (Tanya Curry Kirkman Park, took Spanish at Dudley) “This has been a wonderful experience - both to learn another language and to learn about another culture. I enjoyed bringing back to my students some of the basic greetings - they also enjoyed learning some new things, especially when I put signs of the greetings in my room!” (Frances Szafran - Southern Guilford High School, took Chinese at Northwood) "Yes, monolingualism can be cured!!!! Modestly speaking...French is becoming my fourth language today....and I am older than half century! You can learn a second language at any age and any time my friend! No excuses...just come and learn any of those languages being offered in this program! Love it!" (Roger Pareja, Jamestown Middle, took French at Ragsdale) “I learned so much in Arabic I! My teacher was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and just overall amazing! I would recommend this course to everyone and anyone who is interested in learning Arabic!” (Jamiequay Windbush, T. Wingate Andrews High School, took Arabic at Northwood) |
