Several staff members in the Psychological Services department are qualified to provide training on various topics including:

CHAMPs

A classroom management training which covers the components that the effective teacher research indicates as critical for a positive and effective classroom environment. 

 

 

Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS)

Teaches participants how to administer assessments, use data to inform instruction, and monitor student progress using DIBELS assessments.

 

 
NCSIP: Foundations of ReadingIncreases knowledge and skills for implementation of research-proven teaching strategies for students with persistent reading problems.
  
Intervention Support Team (IST)Prepares school teams to problem solve and use data to respond to the academic and behavioral needs of individual students.
  

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Prepares school teams to create proactive, school-wide systems and practices focusing on prevention of inappropriate behaviors and recognition of appropriate behaviors.

 

 

Responsiveness to Instruction (RtI)

Prepares school teams to implement a framework of tiered academic instruction matched to the needs of students.

 

 

Suicide Intervention Team (SIT)

Teaches participants about interview procedures related to suicide intervention, commitment, referrals to outside agencies, and community resources.
