![]() In 2012, Guilford County Schools showed improvement in its graduation rate, its overall scores in End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) testing and the number of highest-ranking schools as measured by the state. The district’s graduation rate hit a high of 84.5 percent, an increase from last year’s rate of 83.1 percent. This is the highest level since the state began its current method of calculation in 2006. GCS also saw a rise in its EOG and EOC composites scores to 75.9 percent proficient, an increase from last year’s rate of 74.5 percent. In addition, 19 schools were named Honor Schools of Excellence, the highest designation given through the state's ABCs recognition program. In 2008, only one GCS school attained this honor.
