About Us

PARKVIEW VILLAGE ELEMENTARY EXPRESSIVE ARTS MAGNET SCHOOL

Parkview Village Elementary Expressive Arts Magnet School is a Title One and Equity Plus School.  As such, we are able to offer our students additional opportunities for enrichment and tutoring.  In addition to the traditional arts classes, art and music, our students have the unique opportunity to experience dance, drama, and band.  Through the infusion of the expressive arts with academics, students gain a higher understanding of the curriculum while experiencing a rich learning environment.

Our student population averages 480 students Pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.  All students enrolled at Parkview participate in our Multiple Intelligences emphasis.  Students study and master the North Carolina Standard Course of Study while experiencing a collaborative teaching effort between classroom teachers, our cultural arts specialists (dance, drama, music, and art) and physical education.

We offer additional tutoring during and after school to help all students meet with academic and social skills growth.  Our students are exposed throughout the year to rich and varied programs that support the academic goals while broadening our students' perception of their role as good citizens.  Character education and service-learning are two vital components of ourschool's mission.  A focus on better communication with parents and support of parenting needs is a major part of our School Improvement Plan for this coming year.

We have strong partnerships with First United Methodist Church, High Point Bank and Trust, Guilford County Foster Grandparent Program, several local businesses, and the Kiwanis Club of High Point.  The in-kind services provided by these partners are invaluable and greatly appreciated by students, parents, and teachers.  Many volunteer hours are donated by these and other dedicated community individuals throughout the year.

We invite you to visit our school and to learn more about our RRCH (Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Honesty) character emphasis from students who strive everyday to become well-informed good citizens of our world.
