One of the units in the fourth grade study of North Carolina involves the coastal region and the NC lighthouses.

Fifth grade students write poems about one another and each other. They use word processing programs like Microsoft Word to publish their poems. Some use programs to illustrate their work while others use their own artist talents in creating a picture representation of their poem.

Students learn about variables in math and draw illustrations to represent what they have learned.
