Honors, AP, and IB Courses
 

  • Enrollment in Honors courses, which carry credit of one extra quality point, is based on student performance, test data, teacher recommendation, and parental request. Honors courses are offered in the areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Music, Art, and Foreign Language

  • College level courses, which offer 2 extra quality points,are available through the Advanced Placement (AP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. Students may choose to enroll in the IB Diploma Programme or take individual IB and/or AP courses.

  • AP courses are currently offered in US History, European History, US Government, World History, Psychology, English, Foreign Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, Music Theory, Mathematics, and Computer Science. IB courses are offered in the areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, History, Art, Music, and Computer Science.

College Tech Prep Program

  CAREER PATHWAYS are designed for all students, whether they plan to enter the workforce or attend a 2- or 4-year college or university. Once the student has chosen his/her Career Pathway, he/shewill design an individual four-year plan based upon the requirements outlined in the Career Path that leads to the chosen career.

  • To become a College Tech Prep completer, students mu st complete four units of credit in a technical sequence. Four math units are also required, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II OR Algebra I, Technical Math I, and Technical Math II.
  • It is recommended that students applying to a four-year college complete two years in one foreign language.
  • All career pathways may evolve into owning one's own business. Therefore, students are encouraged to take business courses when possible.
