LEXILE CONVERSION CHART

READ180 students are given the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) periodically throughout the school year.  This test measures your child's ability to construct meaning from self-selected topics by completing questions regarding them. Once the student has completed the test, the program gives the student their Lexile score/level.  The SRI provides a prediction of how well a student can comprehend a text.  It also is an indicator that allows students to chose reading materials at their reading level which will help them become better readers.

Below is a conversion chart to help you determine your child's current grade level in reading based on  his/her Lexile score. Remember, the Scholastic Reading Inventory is just one indicator of how well your child is progressing. Current student progress on report cards and EOC's, and past grades and EOG's should also be considered.

Please feel free to contact me at (336) 294-7300 if you have any questions regarding your child's SRI score.   I look forward to working with your child to increase his/her achievement in reading.
