Ragsdale High Principal Kathy Rogers is the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Principal of the Year for 2010. The organization announced the award at its annual meeting earlier this month.

The NCHSAA presents statewide awards each year to coaches, administrators and other individuals who have provided continual support for high school athletics. The awards are named in memory or in honor of outstanding individuals in each category, some of which are members of the NCHSAA Hall of Fame.

Rogers received the Bob Deaton Principal of the Year award, which is named for a principal from Winston-Salem who was president of the NCHSAA from 1977 to 1978. Rogers has been principal at Ragsdale for more than 17 years and is the third principal in the history of the school. She served a four-year term on the NCHSAA Board of Directors from 2002 to 2006 and has been involved with high school athletics and the NCHSAA in a number of additional capacities.
