RE:Second Reading - Proposed 2011-2012 Traditional Calendar Options

At its October 28, 2010 meeting, the board approved for first reading three options for consideration for the 2011-2012 Traditional Academic Calendar. The calendars were posted on the district Web site for a 10-day public comment period.

As part of our process and to encourage a productive dialogue within the community, the Board received feedback from interested individuals until November 7, 2010. A total of 151 responses were received. Please note some responses were in favor of one or more calendars. Total responses per calendar are as follows:

* 45 comments in favor of Option A
* 38 comments in favor of Option B
* 66 comments in favor of Option C
* 12 miscellaneous comments/suggestions

RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the board approves Traditional Calendar Option C.
