RE:Update on Autism Wings
Andrew LaRowe, Interim Chief Operations Officer, and Betty Anne Chandler, Executive Director Exceptional Children, will update the Board of Education regarding the plan to consolidate the three 48-seat autism wings approved by voters as part of the 2008 bond referendum to two sites, Ragsdale High School and another site to be determined. The presentation will include results of the project architect’s analysis of potential sites for the second autism facility. The board presentation is attached.
RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the board designate a site located on the Hairston Middle School/Falkener Elementary School campus for the second autism wing to be constructed as part of the 2008 School Construction Bond.
