RE:NCDOT Right of Way Encroachment Agreement for Non-Utility Encroachments Affecting the Southeast Middle School and Southeast High School Campus Properties
The design of a new media center (the current media center will be utilized for additional classrooms) and a new auxiliary gym and the expansion of the existing cafeteria at Southeast Middle School and the design of new classrooms, media center and gymnasium at Southeast High School are currently underway. To provide for these renovations, GCS will be required to construct within the Southeast School Road right-of-way approximately 1,410 linear feet of 5’ wide concrete sidewalk with accessible ramps at crossing locations shown on the plans for Southeast High School/Middle School Renovation and Addition prepared by CLH Design PA.
Since these improvements will be located within state maintained road right-of-way area, NCDOT is requiring that the board execute a Right of Way Encroachment Agreement for Non-Utility Encroachments.
GCS legal counsel has reviewed this packet of materials.
RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the board approve the execution and delivery of a NCDOT Right of Way Encroachment Agreement for Non-Utility Encroachments, as described above, affecting both the Southeast Middle School and the Southeast High School campus properties.
