Greetings Class of 2013!

My name is LaTrayl Staton and I serve as the 12th grade counselor at the great James B. Dudley High School. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for my undergraduate degrees and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for my Master's degree. This is my 5th year at Dudley and my 7th year as a school counselor.

I would like to take a moment to congratulate you for all of your hard work and achievements thus far. This is going to be an exciting journey for you and I am privileged to be along for the ride and serve as your school counselor.  Please keep in mind that the journey does not stop here-this is just the beginning! As the school year begins, take a moment to reflect on your goals and dreams. What is it that you want to accomplish? How are you going to get there? Are you doing what it takes? These questions are very important as you continue down the road to discovering you. I encourage you to make an appointment with me if you feel you need help in this area. I am very excited about this school year and all the growth that will take place. I am confident that together we can achieve great things! Please know that I am committed to working with you to reach your academic, social, career, and personal goals.
