Dudley High School Panther Family,

Welcome to the 2012 / 2013 Dudley school year.

My name is Norman Phelps.  I am the 10th grade counselor for this school year.  I am proud to be part of the Panther family and look forward to meeting and working with each of you this school year.

I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Park College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in African American Studies from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro, and a Master of Science Degree in Counselor Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Together as a community family we will be able to help our children progress in academic, career, and personal/social development.  Developmental growth and significant progress in these areas will afford our 10th graders the opportunity to pass to the next grade level.  This matriculation to the 11th grade is a year long goal with objectives along the way.

Promotion to the 11th grade is based on class attendance, yearly passing grades, and receiving a minimum of 13 units.

As a combined team consisting of student, school, parents/guardians, and community family working together with each other, the obtainable goal in June 2013 to the 1th grade is a sure reality for many of our students.  Energy, effort and expediency are foundational to this goal.  Consistent Communication will bring this goal to pass.

I invite everyone to keep this yearly goal of our 10th graders part of our daily activities.

Please feel free to contact me.  I can be reached at (336) 370-8130, extension 4139, or email me at:  phelpsn@gcsnc.com.  I am just a call, a click, or a visit away.

God Bless,

Norman Phelps

10th Grade Counselor
