Central Region

Based on feeder patterns, the Central Region features 42 schools in Jamestown, Greensboro and High Point. In creating the regional options, district staff considered the number of students included in each region and whether the regions would have comparable ethnic and socioeconomic student populations.

Dr. Terry Worrell, a long-time veteran of GCS and Guilford County native, serves as the superintendent of the central region. Joining her as executive director is Anitra Walker. Stephanie Rakes serves as the Academic Coach for the central region, and Lise Timmons is the student services administrator. Linda Helle and Priscilla Toon provide office support for the central region.
