Guilford Elementary Media Center has over 14,000 books, magazines, videos, books-on-tape and CD-ROMs! Teachers and students will find many books that enhance the curriculum being taught in the classroom. The media center also offers a wide variety of entertaining books which should further develop your child's love of reading.

Students also have access to several computers in the media center that enable them to quickly find the perfect book with our online catalog. In addition, the computers give students access to NC Wise Owl (online encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers, atlases, dictionaries and much more).

Several fun events occur in the media center throughout the year including a book fair and visits by children's authors, illustrators and storytellers. In previous years, we have hosted visits by Logie Meachum, Mark Daniel, Carole Boston Weatherford, Carol Andrews, Gail Gibbons, Steven Kellogg, Ashley Bryan, Jim Aylesworth, Michael Dooling and James Ransome.
