She's traditionally been a "jack-of-all-trades" at work. Now she's Guilford County Schools' Employee of the Month.
Tammy Cockerham, an office support specialist in Guilford County Schools' Psychological Services office was selected as the district's Employee of the Month for August 2005.
Whether she's designing posters, organizing reams of paperwork, troubleshooting when office equipment fails, or packing and unpacking boxes during six departmental relocations, the 16-year veteran of Guilford County Schools is always creative in finding solutions to the challenges faced by her office.
"Tammy never complains about what we ask of her and is a joy to work with," said Susan Slocum, a colleague who nominated Cockerham for the employee recognition. "She is certainly someone who makes coming to work fun and productive."
As Guilford County Schools' Employee of the Month, Cockerham received a $50 gift card from Sam's Club, who has partnered with GCS to execute the employee recognition program. Sam's Club also presented Cockerham with a gift bag at a ceremony held on July 28. The Guilford County Board of Education will recognize Cockerham at its August 9 meeting.
