Employee of the Month (October 2005)

The man described as "one of the hardest working employees at Northeast High," finally received his due. Julius Ellison, a custodian at Northeast Guilford High School , was selected as Guilford County Schools' Employee of the Month for October 2005.
A nine-year veteran of Guilford County Schools, Ellison's commitment and dedication to his job has caught the eye of students and colleagues alike. In fact, Ellison was nominated a record 14 times for the district recognition program. Those who nominated Ellison described him as an employee who:
- Always has a friendly word to the students and staff
- Always goes out of his way to help students; compliments them, makes them feel special
- Has a wonderful "can do" attitude
- Can be counted on anytime; day or evening
- Is a caring person who goes beyond the parameters outlined in his job description
- Is an inspiration as a professional and as a human being
As Guilford County Schools' Employee of the Month, Ellison received a $50 gift card from Sam's Club, who has partnered with GCS to execute the employee recognition program. Ellison's photo will hang on a plaque at the district's three central offices, at Northeast Guilford High School and at Sam's Club on Wendover Avenue . In addition, the Guilford County Board of Education will recognize Ellison at its October 11 meeting.
